RVL is an education-focused salon. We believe in starting with fundamentals and building over time - even our most seasoned stylists are required to maintain and grow their expertise through continued education. We are dedicated to providing apprentices with all the educational tools they need and to maintaining a positive, welcoming environment for every team member.

Apprentices may focus on whichever technical skills they are interested in - some specialize and some do not. Every assistant will also be taught soft skills crucial to operating a business, including consultations, product use and sales, time management, client relations, pricing, and self-presentation.

Duties

  • Preparing for and attending weekly model nights
  • Opening and closing the salon
  • Shampooing and blow-drying clients
  • Applying toners and treatments
  • Cleaning color bowls and keeping the color bar neat
  • Keeping towels and other laundry stocked
  • Ordering products for color bar, back bar, and retail
  • Keeping floors clean of hair and debris
  • Maintaining a clean, comfortable environment for clients throughout the day

It’s not just about creating quality hairstyles, it is also about creating seamless experiences and making each guest feel taken care of. As the first and last interaction each client has, our front desk employees are crucial to the success of the RVL brand.

We are also dedicated to creating a supportive environment for every team member. In addition to regular duties, receptionists are encouraged to contribute their own unique skills to the salon and grow in any aspects of salon management, social media, and customer relations they are interested in.

Duties

  • Communicating with clients via text, phone, and email
  • Opening and closing the salon
  • Maintaining appointment books for multiple artists
  • Greeting and preparing clients for services
  • Collecting payment for services and products
